One Foundation. Four Specialised Partners. Unlimited Potential.

Our affiliates are not subsidiaries — they are specialised partners aligned with the Foundation’s vision and values, operating with their own identity and institutional capacity. This model allows each affiliate to develop genuine depth in its area while benefiting from the Foundation’s networks, cross-sector knowledge, and continental reach.

Empowering Women. Strengthening Families. Transforming Communities.

Overview

Mama Africa Cares is the women’s empowerment and community development affiliate of One Africa Foundation. It was established on the conviction that empowering women is the single most powerful lever for community transformation available to the development sector.

When a woman gains economic independence, her children are more likely to stay in school. When a woman develops leadership skills, she advocates for her entire community. When a woman has access to financial services, her household becomes more resilient to shocks. The multiplier effect of investing in women is unmatched — and Mama Africa Cares exists to create these investments at scale.

Why Mama Africa Cares Exists

Despite decades of progress, women across Africa still face persistent barriers: unequal access to land and financial credit, limited representation in leadership and politics, vulnerability to gender-based violence, and cultural norms that restrict their participation in economic and public life. These are structural barriers requiring targeted, sustained, community-sensitive intervention.

Core Program Areas
  • Women’s Entrepreneurship — business training, mentorship, and market linkages for women business owners
  • Financial Inclusion — Village Savings and Loan Associations, mobile money, and microfinance access
  • Women’s Leadership — developing capacity to lead in business, government, and community settings
  • Livelihood Strengthening — skills development, vocational training, and income-generating projects
  • Family Wellbeing — maternal health, parenting support, and family nutrition programs
  • Gender Equality Advocacy — community sensitisation and policy engagement on women’s rights
Vision

A future where every African woman has the opportunity, resources, freedom, and community support to achieve her full potential and actively shape the future of her family and community.

Expanding Access. Building Skills. Opening Doors.

Overview

ThinkBig Education Center is the education and skills development affiliate of One Africa Foundation. It was established to address one of Africa’s most urgent structural challenges: the growing gap between what the education system delivers and what the modern economy actually requires from workers and entrepreneurs.

Africa has the youngest population in the world. By 2050, the continent will be home to more than 800 million young people of working age. Whether this demographic dividend becomes an economic revolution or a deepening social crisis will depend largely on whether young Africans have access to quality education and relevant, market-responsive skills. ThinkBig exists to ensure the answer is opportunity, not crisis.

Why ThinkBig Exists

Millions of young Africans complete their schooling without the literacy, numeracy, digital, or vocational skills they need to find meaningful employment or build a successful business. At the same time, employers consistently report that they cannot find workers with the right skills. ThinkBig bridges this gap, connecting learners with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to succeed in the economy of today and tomorrow.

Core Program Areas
  • Digital Literacy & Technology Skills — computer skills, internet literacy, and digital tools for work and enterprise
  • Technical & Vocational Education (TVET) — practical, employment-relevant skills training in specific trades
  • Workforce Readiness — job search skills, professional conduct, CV writing, and interview preparation
  • STEM Education — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for schools and youth groups
  • Teacher Capacity Building — professional development to help educators deliver quality, relevant learning
  • Career Development & Employment Placement — linking graduates with real employment opportunities
Vision

An Africa where every learner, regardless of background, location, or financial circumstance, has access to quality education and the skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

Evidence First. Learning Always. Impact That Lasts.

Overview

ImpactED Knowledge is the research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning affiliate of One Africa Foundation. It is the evidence engine of the entire network — ensuring that every program, every partnership, and every investment is grounded in data, continuous learning, and rigorous improvement.

In a development sector that is too often driven by assumptions rather than evidence, ImpactED Knowledge provides something rare: rigorous, accessible, and genuinely actionable knowledge that helps organisations make better decisions and deliver better outcomes for the communities they serve.

Why ImpactED Knowledge Exists

The global development sector spends billions of dollars every year on programs without a clear picture of whether they actually work. Evaluations are too often commissioned late, designed poorly, or buried in reports that no one reads. ImpactED Knowledge was created to change this, to put evidence at the centre of the development process, not as an afterthought at the end of it.

Core Service Areas
  • Research & Data Collection — primary qualitative and quantitative research on African development challenges
  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) — designing and managing MEL systems for development programs
  • Impact Assessments — independent evaluation of program outcomes and long-term sustainability
  • Policy Research & Analysis — evidence to inform government and donor policy and investment decisions
  • Knowledge Management — organising and sharing knowledge so it reaches the decision-makers who need it
  • Research Capacity Building — training local researchers, evaluators, and field data collection teams
Vision

A development sector across Africa where every decision is informed by solid evidence, every program learns continuously from experience, and every community’s voice is reflected in the data used to make decisions that affect them.

Developing Leaders. Igniting Futures. Building Tomorrow’s Africa Today.

Overview

Brighter Minds Education is the youth leadership and personal development affiliate of One Africa Foundation. It is dedicated to one of the most consequential investments any society can make: developing the leadership potential of its young people, before that potential is lost to circumstance, exclusion, or lack of opportunity.

Africa’s future will not be shaped by today’s leaders. It will be shaped by the young people being developed right now, in schools, in communities, and in programs like those run by Brighter Minds. The question is whether those young people are being given the skills, mindset, mentorship, and opportunities they need to lead with vision, integrity, and genuine purpose.

Why Brighter Minds Exists

Leadership skills are rarely taught systematically in African schools. Yet leadership is needed everywhere, in businesses, in governments, in civil society, and in communities. Young Africans are ambitious, talented, and ready to lead. What they often lack is structured access to mentorship, leadership frameworks, and networks that connect them to real opportunity. Brighter Minds closes that gap — deliberately, programmatically, and at scale.

Core Service Areas
  • Youth Leadership Programs — structured leadership training for young Africans aged 16–30
  • Mentorship & Coaching — connecting young people with experienced mentors in their field of interest
  • Career Guidance & Planning — helping young people make informed education and career decisions
  • Entrepreneurship Training — building the mindset and practical skills to start and run businesses
  • Life Skills Development — communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and emotional resilience
  • Community Engagement Projects — putting leadership into action through social and community initiatives
Vision

A generation of empowered, values-driven young African leaders who are actively building stronger, more prosperous, more just communities across the continent.
